Infinitives

bullet

Verbs are words that are used to describe actions.

bullet

The infinitive is the most basic form of a verb. It is "to + verb."

bullet

In Spanish, infinitives do not have an equivalent to the word "to" in front of them. They are always one word, and they always end in either  -ar, -er, or  -ir.

Here are some examples of infinitives in Spanish:

Helpful hint: When you need to look up a verb in a Spanish/English dictionary, always look for the infinitive. No other forms of the verb will be listed.
